Tomato and Five Bean Bolognese

Serves 2



  • 2 cloves of crushed Garlic
  • Sunflower oil
  • 2 handfuls of  chopped Olives
  • Tin of 5 Bean Heinz Baked Beans
  • A handful Red Lentils
  • Tablespoon of Tomato Purée
  • Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
  • Garlic Granules
  • Sea Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Mixed Herbs
  • Basil
  • Italian Herbs
  • Paprika
  • Teaspoon of Gravy Granules
  • 2 Dried Bay Leaves
  • Half a teaspoon of Bouillon
  • Two capfuls of Malt Vinegar
  • Engevita (optional)


  1. First, heat your sunflower oil slightly in a pan and add your crushed garlic to fry on a medium heat.
  2. After a few minutes, add your olives and then your tin of chopped tomatoes shortly after.
  3. Boil your lentils in a separate pan and add them to your main pan when cooked.
  4. Then, add your 5 bean Heinz Baked Beans, tomato puree, malt vinegar, gravy granules, bouillon, bay leaves and a pinch of sea salt, ground black pepper, garlic granules mixed herbs, basil, Italian herbs and paprika.
  5. Once everything is cooked, serve with whatever you like (I had mine with pasta and bread with coconut spread).
  6. Finally, you can sprinkle Engevita on top if you like as a cheese substitute.
